๐ Age in animal years
Convert human age into dog, cat or other animal years.
How it works
Modern veterinary formulas no longer use the old "1 dog year = 7 human years" rule. The first year counts as roughly 15 human years (rapid growth), the second as 9โ10, and each year after as 4โ7 depending on size.
Fun facts
- Large dogs age faster than small ones - an 8-year-old Saint Bernard is biologically older than a 12-year-old Chihuahua.
- Cats reach sexual maturity around 6 months - equivalent to roughly 10 human years.
- The oldest documented dogs lived over 29 years - over 150 human years.
